Alma Rodriguez

Alma Rodriguez, age 53, of Glenwood, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2022.

She was born on August 21, 1968, in Montemorelas, Nuevo Leon, the daughter of Margarito Rodriguez and Elizabeth Barrios.  She was preceded in death by her father.

On March 16, 2002, Alma was married to the true love of her life, Roberto Angeles.  For many years Alma served as a professor at El Instituto Nacional para la Educación para los Adultos, at Colegio Comercial de Allende and at Instituto Teológico La Nueva Esperanza. After moving to Arkansas, she left the workforce to dedicate her life to her three daughters. Alma loved to sing, dance, read, and was an active member of New Hope Church where she served as a teacher of various classes and loved to pray for others. Her friends and family remember her as a vibrant woman, full of laughter, love, and wise advice. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Roberto Angeles; her three daughters, Vivian Angeles, Andrea Angeles and Nadia Angeles, all of Glenwood; her mother, Elizabeth Barrios of Allende, Nuevo Leon; five sisters, Marliz Murguia, Maribeth Rodriguez, Sulema Rodriguez, Magaly San Juan and Claudia Vargas; and numerous extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM, Monday, June 27, 2022, in the New Hope Church in Glenwood with Paster Ciro Murguia officiating. 

Visitation will be held Monday from 8:30 AM until 12:00 PM, at the church.

Interment will be at 2:00 PM, Monday, in the Bethel Cemetery in Glenwood, under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home, Glenwood.

Pallbearers will be Roberto Angeles, Ciro Murguia, Abraham Murguia, Julio Zavala, Julio Cesar Zavala
