Alline Parker, age 78, of Amity, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2022.
She was born on December 26, 1943, in Rosboro, the daughter of Leroy Kizer and Minnie Arzona Spears Kizer. On March 11, 1967, she was married to the love of her life, Archie Parker, who preceded her in death on May 10, 2017. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Doyle Kizer and Paul Kizer; and two sisters, Thelma Mitchell and Dorothy Drye.
Alline was a hard worker her entire life and was employed for many years at different sawmills, until her health wouldn’t allow her to work outside the home. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, babysitting, and her passion was playing dominoes and Chinese checkers with her grandchildren and had just started teaching her great-grandchildren to play. Alline was the rock of the family and always had her special way of holding everyone together.
Alline was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and loved her family with all her heart. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by three sons, Timmy Joe Pate of Mountain Pine, James Pate, and Troyce Parker, both of Amity; her daughter and son-in-law, Shelly and Bryan Edwards of Bonnerdale; her stepson, Benny Parker of Norman; thirteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sharon Brewer of Glenwood and Pearlie Vandergrift of Amity; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, March 14, 2022, in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Bro. David Walker and Bro. Ben Derrick officiating.
Visitation will be held Sunday, 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Coker Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Mitchell, Ronnie Kizer, Steven Harris, Brett Palmer, Anthony Hill and Ben Derrick.
