Alice Perdue

Alice V. Perdue, 89, of Little Rock, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2008. She was born June 19, 1918 in Vanduzer, Arkansas. She was the daughter of the late William Rosser and Ora Venable and a devoted wife to L.D. "Leo" Purdue for 26 years, who preceded her in death in 1975.
Mrs. Perdue is survived by her stepdaughter, Helen Burns; stepson, Dick Perdue; grandsons, Doug Burns and wife, Carol, and Mark Perdue, all of Dallas, Texas. Also left to cherish her memories are a host of extended family members, including nieces and nephews, John Thomas Venable of King of Prussia, Pennsylvania; Sara Herrmann of Grass Valley, California; Ann Smith of Camden, Arkansas; Judy Gee and Susan Shelton of Little Rock; and her nephew/caretaker for the last several years, John Shelton of Little Rock. She also leaves behind numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Perdue attended Arkansas A & M and in 1962, was named Postmaster of Louann, Arkansas. She loved to travel and cook, but most of all, she loved being with her family.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Parkway Health Center for their loving care of our Aunt Alice while she was in their care. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to one of her beloved charities, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 17 from 6-8 p.m., with services Friday, January 18 at 10:00 a.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), Little Rock.
