Alice Beard

Alice Vessie Bryant Beard, 84, of Gravel Ridge, was born March 2, 1931 on Billie Goat Mountain in North Pulaski County, to the late Sylvester and Minnie (Brown) Stull. She passed away peacefully at home on February 6, 2016, with her family at her side.

She was an active member of the McArthur Assembly of God Church where she was blessed with many dear friends. Her faith helped carry her through several years of poor health while never losing her sense of humor, wit and compassion.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Beard; her loving children Betty (Bill) Murry, Darlos (Wilber) Rowe-Adams and Norman (Janie) Bryant. She leaves behind eight grandsons; one granddaughter; 17 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth A. Bryant.

The family wishes to express their gratitude for the great care given by Baptist Springhill, Lakewood Rehab and Arkansas Hospice.

Her great nephew Doyan Brown and great niece Shirlene Chumbler blessed her with many hours of her favorite gospel hymns. Now she can be singing with the angels.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 8, 2016 at the Smith-North Little Rock funeral home, Funeral service will be held at McArthur Assembly of God Church Tuesday, February 9th at 2:00 p.m. with Marc Bateman officiating. Interment to follow at Gravel Ridge Cemetery, 7519 Gibson Road, Jacksonville. Online guest registry at www.SmithFamilyCares.com
