Alfred Bobby (Bob) Dawson, 79, of Sherwood died February 1, 2015. He was born August 7, 1935, in Cato to John Virgil and Mabel Burchfield (Clark) Dawson.
Bob was an Air Force Veteran, a retired attorney, a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, and a member of Big Rock Masonic Lodge.
Bob was a very active member of his community. He was particularly pleased to have originated the Artists in the Forest art exhibit which grew to be the largest annual exhibit of Arkansas artists in Arkansas. He served on the Pulaski County Equalization Board, on the Sherwood Facilities Board and Building Authority, and he served the citizens of Sherwood as city attorney for 27 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters: Kathleen Cartwright, Marie Williford, and Dortha Lingo.
Bob is survived by his wife, Sara Beth (Graves) Dawson; son, Robert J. Dawson of Hoschton, Georgia; his wife's children Marisa D. Willis of Dallas, Texas, and Paul A. Willis of Albuquerque, New Mexico; nephew, David Williford (Tracey) of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; nieces: Judy Jacobs of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Vicki Teague (Don) of Savannah, Georgia, and Kathy Lingo (Allen) of Annapolis, Maryland; and many special great nieces and nephews.
A memorial communion will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 6. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 4106 J.F.K. Boulevard, North Little Rock, AR 72116; St. Francis House, 2701 South Elm Street, Little Rock, AR 72204; or Cato Historic Church and Cemetery, 149 Cato Rd., Sherwood, AR 72120.
