Alfonsus van Dooren passed away November 29th at the age of 89 in Little Rock, AR. Al is preceded in death by his wife Geja whom he married in 1957. Al is survived by his three daughters Angelica Sacrey (Jim Sacrey), Monique van Dooren (Kyle Pickard), Birgitta van Dooren as well as his three grandchildren Elliot Davies, Madison Lister and Adriana Keeton. Al has one great granddaughter, Kennedy van Dooren.

Al was born in Roosendaal, Netherlands on July 5th, 1933 to a large family with 6 brothers and one sister. Luckily, Al and his entire family survived the German invasion of World War II where The Netherlands were occupied from the second day of the war through its entirety. After the war, he and Geja initially migrated to Australia where they were married and then immigrated to the USA in 1958. He graduated CRNA school in Chicago in 1966. Al worked as a CRNA for over 40 years at various hospitals in Tennessee, Illinois, Virginia and Arkansas. He finally retired at the age of 80 after moving to Little Rock, AR in 1996. He was a devoted Catholic and practiced his faith regularly.

Al will be sorely missed by his immediate family here in the USA as well as a very large family that reside in The Netherlands.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
