Alejandro Ramos Guajardo, Sr., "Alex," 73, of Sherwood, passed away April 24, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan Garza Guajardo and Agueda Ramos Guajardo, his daughter, Gina Maria Mitchell, and siblings, Ramon Guajardo, Paul Guajardo, Salamon Guajardo, Delmira Stuenkel, Mamie Wohner and Angela Helen Dandridge.
He is survived by his children, Alex Guajardo, Jr., Ramon Guajardo, Tony Guajardo, Sam Guajardo and Paul Gonzalez; siblings, his twin brother, Larry Guajardo, Johnny Guajardo, Amelia Carrion, Consuelo Pettit, Sally Miller and Johnny Ybarra; and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
An old newspaper article quoted this: "Alex is dedicated to boxing and loves to fight. He is a 1964 Olympic candidate. He's got all the right moves and a few extra. Of the Guajardo brothers, Alex is the best known of the fighting trio; he has more boxing, track and pole vaulting championships than fingers."
Alejandro was an honorable man; he always gave to others even when he had nothing. He was a hard worker and he worked as much as he could because it made him happy. Dad always did his best to push others to succeed even if it didn't benefit himself. He will be alive in our memories infinitely.
A celebration of Alex's life will be held on Saturday, April 29 at 2:00 p.m. at Zajac's barn, 15524 Clinton Road, North Little Rock.
Arrangements by Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct., (501)224-2200. Mr. Guajardo's online guestbook may be signed at www.littlerockfuneralhome.com.
