Alan Thomas "Tom" Otwell

Alan Thomas "Tom" Otwell, age 63, of Amity, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2024.

He was born on August 31, 1961. He was born in Jena, Louisiana, the son of Willie Burl Otwell and Norma Leatrice Nugent Otwell. He was preceded in death by his parents and son Kaul Lambert; his four siblings Daniel Otwell, Gail Otwell, Sherman Otwell, and John Lee Otwell.

Tom was a jack-of-all trades. He loved restoring vintage Chevrolets and farming. He worked for Exxon Mobile for many years as an oil field contractor. Tom was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him. 

He is survived by his wife, Beth Otwell; five children, LeShea Graf, Rebecca Francis, Athan Lambert, Talan Otwell, and Orran Otwell; his four brothers, Wesley Otwell, Billy Otwell, Benjamin Otwell, and Ricky Otwell; his two sisters, Janice Raulston and Beth Wiggins; his Mother in Law Jane Bean, and his many loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Pallbearers will be Wesley Otwell, Billy Otwell, Benjamin Otwell, Ricky Otwell, Jase Bright, Rostin Travis, Bobby King, and Lenon Main.

Honorary Pallbearers will be nephews, Thomas Garner, Darryl Wheatley, Greg King, Dennis Mitchell, and Johnny Boyd.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Smith Family Funeral Home- Glenwood.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. John McAnally and Kevin Moss officiating.
