Agnes June Hood, 85, of Little Rock, passed away July 13, 2010. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church for 50 years, where she taught children and served on the prayer team. She was a clerk-typist for the Navy Department during World War II, where she met her husband who was serving in the Marine Corps. She worked for the Army Corps of Engineers for 28 years, then 2 years with the U.S. Geological Survey before retiring.
She was preceded in death by a son, James Martin; her parents, James and Hassie Caperton of Manassas, Virginia; her brother, Wallace; and her sister, Marie of Catlett, Virginia. She is survived by her husband, Raymond R. Hood; many nieces and nephews; and friends from Immanuel Baptist Church, Arkansas Baptist Foundation, Presbyterian Village and others.
Services will be Saturday, July 17 at 11:00 a.m. in the Immanuel Baptist Church Chapel, officiated by Dr. Gary Hollingsworth and Dr. David Moore, followed by interment at New Hope Cemetery in Sheridan. Visitation will precede the service at the church, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
