Agnes Cox

Agnes Marie Taylor Cox, of Arkadelphia, age 96, passed away on December 18, 2013, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Agnes was born on July 15, 1917, to Elbert William Taylor and Eva Lecie Cook Taylor. On December 24, 1935, She married her loving husband, Carroll Cox. Although she had no biological children, she mothered numerous nieces and nephews and taught them lessons of gratitude, kindness, faith and gentleness of spirit. Mrs. Cox was a long-standing member of the First Presbyterian Church.

Agnes will always be remembered for her love of others, her twinkling eyes, and smile for all whose lives she touched. Her familiar face may be recognized from her numerous years working in the ticket booth at the old Royal Theatre. Her passions were gardening, furniture collecting and renovation. She rests lovingly in the hearts of many.

She was preceded in death by her husband Carroll F. Cox, her brother Marzell Warrie Taylor and her sister Naomi Jean Brown Jenkins.

She is survived by her sister Violet Virginia Golden.; also by several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 28th at Carter Cemetery near Arkadelphia with Rev. Kendal Land officiating. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Friday at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home.
