Adele Calhoun Evans, 67, of Scott, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on September 1, 1956 in Texarkana, Texas to Dr. John G. Calhoun and Maurine Jacobson Calhoun. She graduated from Texarkana High School and attended college at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock where she obtained her Bachelors of Science.  She married the love of her life, Steven R. Evans, on July 21, 1984 and together they built a life they loved. Adele worked for Pulaski County Courts as a Case Coordinator where she retired.

Adele loved all things outdoors. She participated in field trials for many years, she enjoyed bike riding, loved hanging out on the lake, was an excellent water skier, and especially loved her many trips to the beach. Adele hosted many fun crawfish boils and pool parties over the years and very dear to her heart, were her pets, Haley, Ellie, and Z!

Adele is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Steven R. Evans; a brother Carl Calhoun (Jane Ann) of Blane, Minnesota; sisters Cathy Bellus (Tom) of Cabot, Arkansas, Phyllis McDaniel (Tim) of Longview, Texas, and 8 nieces and nephews.  

A visitation for Adele is scheduled for Thursday, September 14, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home. A private burial will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to UAMS Cancer Institute, Arkansas Children’s Hospital or All Souls Church, Scott, Arkansas.
