Ace "Gene" Eugene Evans

Ace Eugene “Gene” Evans, 88, of North Little Rock, died Monday October 31, 2022. Born June 12, 1934 in Seminole, OK, he was a loving husband to his wife Gailya Rhodes Evans for 66 years. Gene retired from Lavender Electronics and then owned and operated Gene’s TV and VCR. He was a hardworking man who enjoyed spending time with his family more than anything.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary Evans of Banner, AR; his three brothers, Eldon Evans, John Evans and Tom Evans, his daughter Sharon Jean Selby and her husband Joe Selby.

He is survived and greatly loved by his wife, Gailya Evans; his daughter, Karen Manley (Huey) of North Little Rock; five grandchildren, Jeanie Westfall (Chris) of North Little Rock, Rebecca Long (Patrick) of Mayflower, Justin Selby (Alyssa) of Sherwood, Kara Selby of North Little Rock, and Michael Manley (April) of Sherwood; five great-grandchildren, Kendel Thornton, Evan Long, Gunnar Sandmann, Maryann Manley and Austin Selby; sisters, Ellene Cox of Floral, and Mary Dean Rhodes of Overland Park, Kansas; many nieces, nephews and friends, and one that called him dad, John Wilfong of Little Rock.

God greatly blessed us with this man, and we are so grateful to have had him in our lives. He will be missed enormously, but will be remembered in love.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 3, 2022 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 4^th at the funeral home. Burial will follow at 2:00 PM in Martin Cemetery in Rosebud, Arkansas.
