Winnie Lee Smither, 87, of North Little Rock, Arkansas finished her race and met her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 8, 2021. Born to James and Ada Brown Woods in Rison, Arkansas on April 1, 1934. Winnie was the 3rd of 11 siblings. She met the love of her life in high school, Bobby Smither, and were married soon after on May 22, 1953. Together they raised 2 daughters and lived a life that they loved. Winnie spent her entire 35-year career as a beautician. She loved her career, but most importantly loved her family and her church family. She and Bobby were members of 47th Street Baptist Church for over 50 years, were Winnie served in the choir and also as a Sunday School Teacher. Winnie dedicated her entire life in service to others.
Winnie is survived by her husband of 68 years, Bobby Earl Smither; her daughters Paula Kay Barrett (Bob) and Judy Lyons (Tommy), all of Sherwood, Arkansas; her 4 grandchildren: Jeff Lyons (Christina), Jason Barrett (Belinda), Keith Lyons (Elizabeth), and Kelly Barrett; her 5 great-grandchildren: Tyler Barrett, Alexis Lyons, Cameron Rickman, Max Lyons, and Jaxon Lyons; and her brothers Bobby Woods and Max Woods.
Winnie is preceded in death by her parents: James Robert and Ada Louise Brown Woods; and siblings, J.T. Woods, Aline Hicks, Roy Woods, Maxine Woods, Sharon Gilliam, Carroll Woods, Joan Bulman, and Donna Zietlow.
Visitation for Winnie will be held on Monday, September 13, 2021 at 10:00am at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home with the service to immediately follow at 11:00am. Interment will be at Edgewood Memorial Park in North Little Rock, Arkansas.
Family is requesting that attendees please wear a mask.
