Thomas Burks

Thomas Alexander Burks passed away peacefully on October 17th, 2017 in Little Rock, Arkansas at the age of 82. He was born on December 11th, 1934 to the late George and Corrie Burks. He served in the United States Army for two years, serving his country in Germany. Thomas was not only a wonderful man, but a wonderful Husband, Father, and Grandfather. He will be deeply missed by both family and friends.
Thomas was preceded in death by his brother and two sisters. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Claudette; a son, Greg Burks (Amy); a daughter, Rebecca Griffiths, and three grandchildren.
The family would like to thank both Colonel Glenn Health and Rehab and Kindred Hospice for the diligence and utmost care given to Thomas.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, 11:00 a.m., October 24th, 2017 at Smith-Sherwood Funeral Home with visitation being held Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Burial will be in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery. Please visit www.smithfamilycares.com for online guest register.
