Stephen Oscar Hardwick, 57, of Haskell, met his Creator on Thursday, June 23, 2016 after an illness of many weeks at St. Vincent's Hospital in Little Rock. He was born September 3, 1958 in Little Rock, Ark., to Carl Hardwick and Ruby (Adams) Hardwick. As a lifelong resident of central Arkansas, he was a graduate of Central High School in Little Rock, a self-employed electronics repairman, and a member of Midtowne Church in Benton. Above all, he was a man devoted to loving and leading his family in Godliness and helping people find and experience God's best.
Hardwick is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Carla (Harmon) Hardwick, and three sons, Noah, Caleb and Seth Hardwick, all of Haskell; a brother and sister-in-law Jim and Arlene Hardwick of Little Rock; a sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Harry Allen of Benton; a cousin, Pam Kahler of Sherwood; and many other family members. He is also remembered by the many lives he impacted as a teacher and preacher of the Word of God.
A memorial service will be held at 6:30 on Thursday, June 30 at Midtowne Church, 4037 Boone Rd, in Benton. All friends and church family are welcome to attend. Please dress as you feel comfortable. Services entrusted to Smith-Benton Funeral Home, certified Veterans Funeral Care provider.
