Samuel Gean Maupin, 75, of Benton, Arkansas, formerly of Blytheville, Arkansas passed away February 13, 2020 at his home. He was born January 15, 1945 in Wilson, Arkansas. Sam was a former mechanic for Blytheville Public Schools Transportation Department. He loved to barbecue and go fishing. Preceding Sam in death are his parents, R.C. Maupin and Estelle (McCanless) Burchfield; brother, David Maupin; sister, Mary Catherine "Ann" Kennedy; and a niece, Tammy Deason. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Rebecca Maupin; three children: Roderick Maupin and wife Queona, Wanda "Wendy" Stewart and husband Danny, and Stella Turner; three grandchildren: Ana Ingram and husband Dontavius, Spencer Crawford, and Sawyer Craford; three siblings: Eva Jane Byers and husband Alvin, Beverly Thorn and husband Grant, and Phillip Maupin; and many cousins and nieces and nephews. In accord with Sam's wishes, there will be no funeral services.
