Sally McKelvey Powell Prickett, 87, of North Little Rock passed from this life on March 28, 2021. She was born March 28, 1934 in Ponca City, Oklahoma to the late Charles W. and Agnes M. (Pittman) McKelvey. Sally was raised in the United Methodist church and continued to be devoted to her relationship with Jesus all of her life. She was surrounded with exceptional, life-long friendships starting in her early teenager years when she and a group of girlfriends named themselves the “Dirty 13”; 13 beautiful, unique individuals who gave back to the world, together, & formed an incredible bond they carried in their hearts forever.” She was a true lady in every sense of the word. She spent most of her adult life as a homemaker, caring for her husband and children. Sally had the ability to make anyone feel at home in her home. She was a wonderful cook, and excelled in sewing and making clothes. In addition to her skills as a homemaker, Sally was also a painter and an artist. Her creations are among some of her family and friends most prized possessions. In addition to her parents, her husbands, James M. Powell and John Prickett precede her in death.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Anna Beth Powell of Dallas, Jimmy (Jacklyn) Powell of North Little Rock and Buck Powell of North Little Rock; grandchildren, Gracie Carroll of St. Louis, Carli Walker of Austin, Texas and Moxley Powell of North Little Rock. Other survivors include siblings, Patrick McKelvey of Little Rock and Duncan McKelvey of Georgia along with a host of extended family and friends.
Memorial services will be 2:00pm, Friday, April 2, 2021 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home with Pastor Cindy Henry officiating. A private family interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Little Rock.
