Robert "R L" Tippit

Robert (R L) Tippit, 85, of Cabot, Arkansas went to be with the Lord September 6, 2020.  R L retired from MOPAC/Union Pacific Railroad after 44 years.  He started working at the railroad at the age of 17 years old.

He was married to Marcella for over 66 years.  After retirement they moved to Cabot, where he enjoyed watching their grandchildren grow up.  R L Spent hours working in his yard.  He loved the outdoors.  He loved to study the Bible.

R L was preceded in death by his parents, John A. and Vernie Tippit; one daughter, Perinda Anderson; brother John Arthur Tippit; two sisters Mabel Ward and Freda Jarvis.

He is survived by his wife, Marcella; daughter Anita Hillenburg (Buddy); son Dwight Tippit (Bonnie); seven grandchildren, Ronald Caldwell, Brandon Hillenburg (Brandi); Justin Anderson (Amanda), Pamela Smith (Michael), Daniel Hillenburg (Sarah), Colton Tippit and Austin Tippit; and nine great grandchildren.  He is also survived by two sisters, Mabel Crocker and Arlene Mallett.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 Thursday at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe.  Funeral will be 10:00 a.m. Friday at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, with burial in Hebron Cemetery.
