Robert “Bob” Nick Ammann, Sr., 91, of Little Rock, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather great-great-grandfather, brother and uncle, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 8, 2021. He was born in Stuttgart to John and Ozie McCoy Ammann and was of the Methodist faith. He met his loving wife of 51 years, Geneva Ammann, at Wel-Bilt Products. A salesman at heart, he retired from his career at Senco Southwest.
Bob’s life revolved around his wife and family and he loved to help people. When he was younger, he loved to fish and frog gig. He was able to fix anything, a “jack of all trades.” In his high school annual, he was known for his loud socks and joking manner. He was self-educated, stayed on top of current events and was an avid reader of his Bible.
Preceded in death by his parents, wife, and granddaughter, Michele Ammann, he is survived by his children, Nick Ammann and wife, Sylvia, of Benton, James Havniear of Little Rock, Juanita Camp of Conway, Mary Middleton of Little Rock, Eva Riggs and husband, Randy, of Paron, Martha Gueringer and husband, Mike, of Conway and Janice Ammann of Little Rock. Also surviving are his brother, Jack Ammann; sister, Jo Nell Chastain; fifteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 13 from 6-8 p.m. at Smith Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. Services will be Friday, May 14 at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home, followed by interment at Pinecrest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Pulaski County, 14600 Colonel Glenn, Little Rock, AR 72210, or a charity of one’s choice. Bob’s online guestbook may be signed at www.smithfamilycares.com.
