Rita Owens

Rita Faye Owens, 59, of Beebe, Arkansas, returned to her heavenly home on August 24, 2015 with her family by her side. Rita was born in Greenfield, Indiana to the late Vera and Paul Douglas on January 23, 1956. Rita married the love of her life, Jimmy Don Owens, Sr. on November 2, 1973, and raised two sons, Jimmy Don Owens, Jr. and Clifton Paul Owens, who she dedicated her life to. Once Jimmy and Paul were grown, Rita devoted her love and affection to her six grandchildren, Autumn, Dylan, Trey, Deanna, Brenna and Bronson.
She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Douglas, her mother, Vera Taylor, and her stepfather, Coy Taylor.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jimmy Owens, Sr.; her sons, Jimmy and Paul Owens; her brothers and sisters, Elizabeth Gosvener, Michael Douglas, Paul Thomas, Theresa Phillips, Arnold Taylor, Audie Taylor; and her grandchildren, Autumn Owens, Dylan Owens, Trey Owens, Deanna Owens, Brenna Owens, and Bronson Adams.
She will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandma and friend.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 28, 2015, at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, with burial in Beebe Cemetery. Arrangements by Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, a certified Veterans Care provider.
