Reba Bates

Reba Overton Bates, 87, passed away May 1, 2015. She was a telephone operator and retired from AT&T. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Millington, Tennessee.

Mrs. Bates was preceded in death by her parents, Owen F. Overton, Sr. and Violet Jackson Overton; husband, Rev. Cecil Bates; sister, Oza Overton Bryant; and brothers, Glen Cockrell, Harry Overton, Clifford Jackson "Jack" Overton, Clarence Roland "Johnny" Overton, Paul Douglas Overton, Calvin Scott Overton and Owen Overton, Jr. She is survived by numerous family members and friends.

Graveside services will take place at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander on Wednesday, May 6 at 11:00 a.m., preceded by visitation at the cemetery beginning at 10:00 a.m. Dr. Bob Dunaway will officiate.
