John Scallion

John Scallion

John R. Scallion, Army Ret., 82, of Romance, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord November 29, 2016. He retired after serving twenty years in the U.S. Army where he retired as Staff Sergeant. He served two tours in Vietnam and one in the Korean Conflict. John was a Baptist.
He is survived by his wife, Katie Scallion of Romance; three sons, Mearlon Noah, Jr. of Romance, David Noah (Sherrie Hess) of Cabot, and Randy (Leslie) Noah of Cabot; one daughter, Brenda (Denzil) Navolt of Romance; daughter, Delyth Rose (Bryan) Edwards of St. Louis, Missouri; four grandsons; four granddaughters; numerous great-grandchildren; and one brother, Melton Scallion.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lottie May and Thomas Jefferson Scallion; one brother, T.J. Scallion; and one sister, Opal.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 2, 2016, at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, with burial in Brownsville Cemetery, Lonoke. Arrangements by Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home.
