Jennifer Ann (Burr) Calkins, 63 of Benton, passed away Friday, November 18, 2011 at Saline Memorial Hospice House. Jennifer was born August 7, 1948 in Rayville, LA to Modell (Womack) Burr and the late Travis Burr.
Mrs. Calkins was a graduate of Central High School of Little Rock and retired from the Arkansas State Police after 38 years of service. She was a member of Holland Chapel Baptist Church. She was an avid cat lover, and devoted much of her life caring for whatever stray showed up on her doorstep.
Ann is survived by her husband of nine years, Steve Calkins; son James Harper (son of the late Tom Harper) and wife Mandi; sister-in-law Janet Shelnutt; cousin Ronnie Womack; mother Modell Burr and brother John Burr. She was also a grandmother by marriage of nine children.
A memorial service will be held Monday, November 21st at 2:00 pm at the Peaceful Haven Funeral Home.
