Helen Willson

Helen Ruth Willson, 82, of North Little Rock passed away September 18, 2020.  Born in Bearden, AR to the late Virgil and Ruby (Simpson) Cathey, Helen moved to Little Rock after graduating high school to work for First National Bank.  It was at FNB that she met and married her devoted husband of 59 years, William “Bill” Willson.  During a life-long career in the banking world, Helen served as Vice President of Twin City Bank (later Mercantile Bank), raised and cherished her only son, Keith, and maintained close relationships with her siblings.

Helen was a feisty lady who was loved by many, but her loss will be felt most by her husband, William “Bill” D. Willson; son, William Keith Willson and wife Leah; siblings: Lucy Shurtleff; Larry Cathey; nieces Phyllis Kaye Baird and Brigette Rose; and nephew, Johnny Hopkins. She was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Ellen Hopkins.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorials to be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in honor of Mrs. Helen Willson and her valiant battle through the disease.

Memorial Service will be announced in the near future.
