Harold “Red” Marlatt, Jr., 91, of Sherwood, Arkansas returned to his heavenly home on November 14, 2020 after a valiant battle with a long illness.
His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace.
Harold was born to the late Harold and Marian Marlatt in Cambridge, Ohio on May 21, 1929. He served in the US Air Force and retired from Roadway Express.
Harold was blessed with a loving family and a beautiful wife, Nancy, of 50 years. They were married September 22, 1964. Harold raised four children with patience and love. He taught them to be strong, loving and compassionate. Harold was kind and loving but straight forward and a hard headed man. He is dearly missed by his loved ones who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his creator.
Harold is survived by his four children, Jim Marlatt of Florida, Dale (Joyce) Marlatt of Ohio, Mark (Danette) Marlatt of Sherwood, and Carrie Cauley of Sherwood; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren and a special wench.
His two great grandchildren, Makenzie and Tucker, who resided with him were the light of his life until their Papa stated, “All good things must come to an end.”
Visitation will be from 6:00PM-8:00PM Wednesday, November 18 at Smith-Sherwood Funeral Home . Funeral service will be at 11:30AM Thursday, November 19 at the funeral home with burial following at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery .
