Gary Don Bishop, veteran of the United States Army, born December 5, 1952 in Lepanto, Arkansas, died May 14, 2020 in Little Rock, Arkansas.
He was born to the late Charles Isaac Bishop and Stella Mae Harris Bishop; he was one of eighteen siblings. Remaining siblings are two sisters: Loreda Stice of Romance, Arkansas and Joyce Bishop of Russellville, Arkansas; one brother, Louis Bishop of Oklahoma.
He leaves behind his best friend and companion Ruby Coosenberry-Bishop of the home; son, Michael Don Bishop (Samantha); and two grandchildren, Brooklyn and Titus Bishop; three step-children, Danika Fretz (Joe) of Conway, Arkansas, Flint Turner (Denise) of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Jana Motes of North Little Rock, Arkansas; five step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other family, friends and loved ones who were are all dear to his heart.
A member of First Pentecostal Church in North Little Rock for twenty-one years, he loved ALL of his church family.
Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., Sunday, May 17, 2020 at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home. Funeral will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 18, 2020 at First Pentecostal Church in North Little Rock. Pastor Nathan and Bishop Joel Holmes will be officiating. Burial at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery will be private.
State of AR COVID-19 directives: Face coverings required at all times (not provided by funeral home). Fifty attendees or less. Maintain social distancing. No hugs or handshakes please.
