Earl Ray Permenter, 77, of Bryant, Arkansas passed away April 12, 2016. He was born June 19, 1938 in Higden, Arkansas to the late Joseph Roosevelt and Judy Ethel Barnes Permenter. Earl proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a member of the Free Masons and Bryant First Southern Baptist Church. Earl served as a former Bryant City Councilman. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Carol Permenter; sons, Wade Permenter and wife Stephanie and Justin Permenter and wife Diane; grandchildren, Mackenzie Permenter, Austin Permenter, Jessalyn Permenter, Colt Permenter and wife Keri; brother, James Permenter; and a host of family members and friends who loved Earl and will miss him always. Reception visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 P.M., Friday, April 15, 2016, at Smith-Benton Funeral Home. Funeral service, officiated by Bro. Raymond Cleghorn, will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, April 16, 2016 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hills Cemetery assisted by Billy Henry, Chris Helmich, Jeff Stroud, Rodney Spradlin, Greg Acord, and Bubba Hill assisting as pallbearers.
