Dow Tiner, age 83 of North Little Rock, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2012 in Cabot Arkansas. He was born July 14, 1929 in Jefferson County, Arkansas; and was the son of David Edward Tiner and Ethleen Tiner.
Dow was a United States Army Tank Commander and veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He was the owner of Tiner Welding Company in Levy , and served as a police officer for the Veteran's Administration. He and was a 32nd Degree Mason of the Scottish Rite Scimitar Temple and a member of the Shriners Diners Unit.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife Emma Jean Tiner of North Little Rock; a son David Tiner of Sherwood; grandchildren Cindy Tiner of Sherwood, Cathy Tiner of North Little Rock and Jeff Tiner of Orlando, Florida; a great- grandson Gavin Tiner; sisters Arkie Tracy of Morrilton, Evalee Smith of Morrilton and Vivian Smith of White Hall; one brother Gene Tiner of Pine Bluff and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. both at Levy Baptist Church in North Little Rock, burial will be at a later date at Arkansas State Veterans' Cemetery in North Little Rock under the direction of Huson Funeral Home in Sherwood.
