Diana Dawes Harsa of Sherwood entered the Kingdom of Heaven on January 24, 2022 at age 82. She was born in Glens Falls, New York, July 28, 1939 to Patricia Preston and Byron Fay Dawes. A devout Catholic Christian, she was very close to the Lord, her family, and her friends. Diana is predeceased by her husband of 51 years Richard Joseph Harsa and brother Preston Dawes. She is survived by son Richard James “Rick” Harsa, his wife Tracey and grandchildren Kyle of Sherwood, Robyn and great grand-children August and Eden of Alexander, Lukas and great-grandchild Sage of North Little Rock, Chelsea and Connor of Little Rock; son Eric Matthew “Matt” Harsa of Hot Springs; and daughter Renee Giesemann and her husband Christopher and grandchildren Ximena, Luke, Andres and Alex of Portland, Oregon; brother Ron Dawes of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Diana graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University, where she met her future husband Richard who was a student in the school of medicine there. Diana was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for several years where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and member of the Altar Society. Diana loved spending time outdoors viewing God’s handiwork. The beautiful white beaches of the Florida panhandle were among her favorite places on earth. She also enjoyed traveling, cooking, painting, and caring for her family. She especially treasured the time she spent with Richard, sharing the daily mass readings and praying the rosary. Diana will be remembered for her loving devotion and service to others. Her family would like to express gratitude for the exceptional care she received from her second family at the Arkansas Hospice Ottenheimer Inpatient Center.
Diana will be in state for viewing Wednesday, February 9, 2022 - Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM both days at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held February 11 at 11:30am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Interment will be at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
