Danny Garner

Danny Ray Garner, 72, of Little Rock, passed away on March 19, 2021.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Junior Charles Garner and Mary Matthews Garner Lynch and grandparents, Walter Clyde and Daisy Matthews.

He is survived by wife of over 50 years, Sandy Knoedl Garner; sons, Matthew (Kayla) Garner and Mark (Samantha) Garner; grandchildren, Aiden, Annelise and Haven; cousins, Johnny and Jimmy Peterson; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

He graduated from Metropolitan High School.  Danny served in the National Guard.     He worked various jobs, first as a press printer, cut and hauled wood for Carl Knoedl Firewood, and drove for Coors Beer and Little Rock Wine and Spirits.  He worked the dock at ABF Freight Lines for twenty four and a half years, then retired.  His favorite comment after retirement was, "I haven't had a bad day yet."

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles and side by sides, but Pawpaw mostly loved playing with his grandkids.

Not a traditional person, he didn't want a service where everyone was sad and crying, but rather to have everyone smiling and remembering the good times spent with him by raising a can of beer (or drink of choice) and saying, "Here's to you, Danny Ray."

Special thank you to all the doctors and nurses at CHI St. Vincent Hospital involved in his care.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to charity of choice. Arrangements by Smith Little Rock Funeral Home.  Memories and condolences may be made online at www.smithfamilycares.com.
