Charlotte Johnson

May 11, 1940 — August 18, 2020

Charlotte Johnson

Charlotte Ann Johnson peacefully earned her heavenly wings and joined her loved ones waiting in heaven on August 18, 2020, in Conway, Arkansas, at the age of 80.

Charlotte was born on May 11, 1940 in Cave City, Arkansas to parents Chester T. Stewart, and Ocre O. (Ladybug) Stewart. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Barbara L. Stewart Taylor, her husband, Charles R. Johnson, and her brother, (passed at birth) James L. Stewart.

She is survived by her children, Mark and Debra Johnson of Russellville, Dana and Chip Davis of Greenwood, Chad and Mary Johnson of Vilonia, grandchildren Ashlee Johnson, Kyle and Kayla Johnson, Jake Higgins, Max Higgins, Hannah Johnson, Ethan Johnson, Jack Davis, and Gavin Davis, and a host of other cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Charlotte was a homemaker, and became a business owner when she and her husband Charles (Hot Shot) Johnson bought the Booger Hollow Trading Post north of Dover, Arkansas. After his death, she continued to run the business until selling it in 2001. She enjoyed traveling around the country with her sister, Barbara, and other friends and relatives. One of her greatest joys was spoiling and doting on her grandchildren. “Maw” loved telling stories, playing hide and seek, reading books, and sneaking goodies to them. She was a devoted mother to three children, never missing an opportunity to express her love, worry or concern for them, even when her own health was failing. She loved being one of the neighborhood moms of Western Hills to all the kids growing up. Charlotte was a dedicated friend to many, and was loved for her ever present sense of humor and her contagious laugh, which she carried with her to the very last. She had the ability to complain about something, while laughing about it at the same time. Most importantly, she was a devout servant of her Lord and Savior, having been a long time member of Baker’s Creek Baptist Church in Russellville, and then 47th Street Baptist Church in North Little Rock.

Special thanks to the many doctors, nurses, and staff of UAMS hospital for the care provided to Charlotte over the last several years. Thanks also to the amazing staff of Brookdale Assisted Living in Conway, who took such great care of Charlotte over the last two years.

The ceremony will be officiated by Brother Ted Grove of 47th Street Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Ron Taylor, Steve Taylor, Jake Higgins, Max Higgins, Kyle Johnson, and Chip Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Vitale, Lou Vitale, Rodrigo Menses, Ethan Johnson, Greg Foreman, Todd Foreman, Larry Pinkston and the Members of 47th Street Baptist Church.

All friends and family are invited to celebrate the life of Charlotte Johnson.
