Cecil Guenzel Ball (“Charlie”), 97, of North Little Rock went to meet the Lord on July 15, 2020. He was a member of Lakewood United Methodist Church.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson Jordan “Allen” Ball.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dora and his two children, Charles Ball of Blytheville and David Ball (Cindy) of Sherwood. Five grandchildren, Janelle Ball of North Little Rock, Madeline Meatte (Justin) of Bryant, Catherine Herron of Cabot, Delaney Ball of Little Rock and Carter Ball (Taylor) of Ward.  He is also survived by 3 great grand children.

After high school, Charlie attended college at the U of A in Fayetteville, AR.  Before graduating from college WWII started.  He joined the Army Air Corps and flew P47 Thunder Bolts with the 8th Air Force 56th Fighter Group stationed in England.  After WWII, his parents moved to North Little Rock and opened Ball Cleaners.  Charlie joined his father in the dry cleaning business on Main Street.

He was a retired realtor and land developer.  A member of the North Little Rock Kiwanis Club with 70 years of perfect attendance, having served as President and Lt. Governor.  He received the first Kiwanian of the Year Award and received the first Hixson Award that his club presented.  He was also a charter member of the Lakewood United Methodist Church and a former Justice of the Peace.  At the age of 89, he graduated from Arkansas Tech University in Russellville.

He loved his family and loved life.  He will be missed by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lakewood United Methodist Building Fund, 1922 Topf Rd. North Little Rock, AR 72116.

Visitation will be Monday, July 20, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home with Funeral Service on Tuesday, 10:30 a.m., July 21 at the funeral home.  Entombment will be at 2:00 p.m. following service at Rest Hills Memorial Park.

State of AR COVID-19 directives: Face coverings required.  Maintain social distancing.
