Carol Bricker Phillips, 64, of Little Rock, passed away on September 21, 2019. She was born in Little Rock on August 11, 1955 to John Pope and Clara Camille Bricker.

From an early age, Carol loved to dance.  She was a natural performer, from dance to cheer to theater.  She taught at Joel’s House of Dance for many years, and at one point owned her own dance studio.

Carol started her broadcasting career at KARK Channel 4, where she worked for over ten years.  She spent nearly twenty years at KTHV Channel 11, where she became Executive Producer of Special Assignments. In 2014 she was awarded the Edward R. Murrow Journalism Award for her coverage on the 50-year Anniversary of the Central High Crisis.

She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Scott A. Phillips and her son, Jonathan Cary Bricker (Brooke); granddaughters, Clara Adelaide and Amelia Rose Bricker; sisters, Ellen Broomas & Susan Bryant (Randy); aunts, LaRue Smith and Therese Bricker; best friends, Terri Elliott and Beth Werner; and many other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and parents-in-law, Ray and Sylvia Phillips.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Arkansas Hospice and UAMS for their loving care.  Memorials in Carol’s name may be made to UAMS’s Transplant Department. Please designate on the check “liver transplant dept.”

Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 PM Monday, September 23, 2019 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home.  Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park.
