Carl Allen

Carl Mark Allen, 64, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2021 at his home in Hensley, Arkansas after a long battle with cancer.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Eldon and Ovalene Allen as well as his sister, Lisa Allen Dale of Little Rock, Arkansas.  Mark was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on March 5, 1957 and lived here his entire life.  He attended McClellan High School and became a Master Electrician.  He retired from Evergreen Packaging after thirty years of service.  Mark belonged to the IBEW and NEBF Unions.

After retiring, Mark took a part-time position at the nearby Sanders Ace Hardware and volunteered at the Compassion Center in Little Rock.  Mark was a very strong Christian and humble man.  He was a member of Sardis United Methodist Church and Grace Church where he contributed his talents for many years.

Mark is survived by his loving wife Shelley Murphy Allen of forty-three years.  He also leaves his son, Doug and Whitney Allen and their two children, Brooklyn Kennedy and Nash James of Little Rock, as well as his daughter Jenny Allen and her son Leo Coursey of Rogers, Arkansas.  Mark is also survived by his nephew, Robert Dale of Benton, Arkansas.  He leaves many other family members who he loved very much.

Mark was an avid outdoors man.  He was a Boy Scout and Eagle Scout.  He enjoyed deer and duck hunting.

Mark has many lifelong friends and coworkers and was respected by all.  He will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Little Rock Compassion Center, 3618 W. Roosevelt Road, Little Rock, Arkansas  72204.

Visitation held 2:00-3:00 PM, Sunday, December 26, at Grace Church on Highway 167 in East End, Arkansas.  Memorial service to follow at 3:00 PM.
