Billy Lee Boyd, Sr.

Billy Lee Boyd, Sr., age 81, of Lodi, passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2021.

He was born on March 16, 1940, in Alicia, Arkansas, the son of Ernest Lee Boyd and Velma Chastain Boyd. On April 8, 1958, he was married to Helen Corena Smith. Preceding him in death were his parents, and two brothers, Harold Boyd and James Boyd.

A riverboat pilot for 27 years, he moved to Lodi in 1984, where he and his father started Boyd Contracting and also worked as a cattle farmer. He was a member of the Lodi Free Will Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing and being with his grandkids.

He is survived by his wife, Corena Boyd; three children and their spouses, Kattena Fant, Billy, Jr. and Dana Boyd and Steven, Sr. and Tracy Boyd, all of Lodi; seven grandchildren, Katrina Bates, Alecia Wright, Josh Boyd, Tiffany Pounds, Zach Boyd, Steven Boyd, Jr. and Jesse Boyd; eight great-grandchildren, Jordan, Alexis, Kolton, Chelsea, Jaydyn, Bristol, Lucas and Rhiannon; five brothers, Denny Boyd, Bernard Boyd and Royce Boyd, all of Poughkeepsie, Arkansas, Michael Boyd and Johnny Boyd, both of Murfreesboro; and his nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, August 15, 2021, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with Bro. Ron Parker and Bro. Joe Ray Short officiating.

Visitation will be Saturday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Lodi Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jordan Bates, Zach Boyd, Kolton Boyd, Steven Boyd, Jr., Jesse Boyd, Josh Boyd, Deric Putz and Johnathan Pounds.
