Betty Smith

Betty Marie Smith, 88, of North Little Rock, AR passed away on September 25, 2021.  She was born to the late Ora (Aurore) Choate and Aubrey Veazey on January 30, 1933 in Abbeville, Louisiana.  She was of the Catholic faith and a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Church in North Little Rock.

She met the love of her life, Adam C. Smith, in high school.  They were married for 27 years before his death in 1980.  Her favorite role was that of wife and mother.  She was a teacher in the early years, before returning to college at the age of 48.  She received a degree in Occupational Therapy and worked in this field until she retired at 65.

Betty is survived by five children:  Greg Smith, Adam Smith, Patty Barnett (Gary), Chris Smith (Janet) and Jim Smith (Kim); grandchildren:  Clay Landry, Tonia, David, Michelle, Aaron (Jessica), Christian and Jonathan Smith; Christine (Scott) Curole and Anthony Barnett; Devon (Blake) Speights; Madison (Logan) Blalock and Adam C. Smith II.

Great-grandchildren:  Jacelyn Smith, Eliza Smith, Michael and Alexander Curole, McKenna Smith and a sister, Audrey Veazey Frederick.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Adam C. Smith and a sister, Sybil Mayer.

Rosary will begin at 10:30 AM, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM Friday, October 1, 2021 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, North Little Rock.  Burial at 1:00 PM at Rest Hills Memorial Park, North Little Rock.
