Betty Barnes

Betty Sue Barnes, 80, of Benton, Arkansas passed away August 26, 2020.  She was born December 3, 1939 to the late Minor H. and Allie Mae (Cotton) Dortch.

Betty Sue loved the Lord with all her heart and was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church since 1963.  She was a hard, dedicated employee and retired after working thirty-nine years from Westinghouse as a utility operator.  Betty Sue was a life member of USS Razorback Base in North Little Rock.  Going camping and eating catfish were some of her favorite things to do.

Preceding Betty Sue in death are her parents, and brother, Harvey Dortch of Sheridan, Arkansas.

She leaves behind her husband of sixty-one years, James W. Barnes of Benton, Arkansas; two sisters:  Anna Jane Reddin and husband Lonnie Brown of Fordyce, Arkansas and Wanda Deason and her husband Lee of Camden, Arkansas; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who love Betty Sue and will miss her always.

Visitation will be held from 12:00-1:00 PM, Monday, August 31, at Smith-Benton Funeral Home.  Funeral service, officiated by Bro. Vance Nutt and Bro. Wayne Smith, will follow the visitation at 1:00 PM.  Burial following at Smith-Rosemont Cemetery.  State of Arkansas COVID-19 Directives include requirement to wear masks (not provided) and social distancing will be maintained.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Saline Memorial Hospice or Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
