Albert Holland

Albert “Billy” E. Holland, 96, of Cabot passed away March 14, 2020.  He was born to the late William and Darcus Lasley Holland on February 4, 1924, in Cabot, Arkansas.

Billy was a World War II veteran.  He fought in the Battle of the Bulge and the Liberation of the Philippines.  His courageous service earned him a Victory Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon, and a Bronze Star.  After leaving the Army, Billy drove a truck for a short while, before following in his father’s footsteps to become a water well driller.

He was a small aircraft pilot.  Billy enjoyed being around children, fishing, dogs, and goats. He loved to watch the birds and spending time outdoors.  He even mowed his own lawn until the age of 95!

Billy is preceded in death by his wife Laverne; step-son Carol Hutchinson; five sisters, and six brothers.

He is survived by his sisters, Cloyce Boyd, of Cabot and Dorothy Shearer of Little Rock; two brothers Charles Holland and Bobby Holland both of Cabot; close friends and caregivers, Ken Santos, Amanda Leatherman, Michelle Dudley, and Bill Smith as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
